Football Sunday

Today we introduced Pippa to football. It was a good day. Well, not that good since the Eagles lost, but we'll let it slide this just this once. (Smirk). Football (and the Phillies) are the only TV Pippa is allowed to watch. I'm sure you are all glad to know that we have our priorities straight.

We had a bunch of friends over celebrate the opening weekend of football season and everyone had a baby around Pippa's age. It was a zoo! All we needed was a giraffe. There were 5 babies in all. The youngest, Jacob, was around 7 months and just starting to think about getting up on his knees to crawl. We think watching the other kids inspired him because he managed to do it and move forward about an inch! A first according to his parents! Meanwhile, the oldest was Gabrielle, 14 months, who never stopped walking from room to room. I quickly learned that my house is not well childproofed for someone that age! I think her parents were exhausted by the time they left making sure she didn't open every cabinet or fall on the 2 steps between my kitchen and family room. Its hard to picture Pippa like being like that in a few months.

So, as much fun as it was to have a bunch of people over, it was very difficult to pay attention to the game with all that cute commotion. That's OK, though. This is just the beginning of football...

  1. I joked with all my friends here that Olivia was available for hire to see what they needed to babyproof in their house before their kids started walking. It would only take about 15 minutes for her to find everything!

  2. Can't believe it! We need more of these - and everyone has to pull his/her/baby weight and eat up! :)

    Thanks for hosting, Heather!!!
